YWCA Mankato Art Exhibition

BUILD THE MOVEMENT

For the first time in the conference’s history, YWCA Mankato is proud to present Build the Movement, an art exhibition that celebrates creativity, empowerment, and the collective journey towards equality.

This exhibition is a vibrant expression of the 2024 Women’s Leadership Conference's mission, echoing YWCA USA CEO Margaret Mitchell’s powerful call to action: "Now, more than ever, we need every voice raised and every person engaged to build the movement that will finally deliver on the promise of equality for all."

Build the Movement will be on display at the CSU Gallery at Minnesota State University, Mankato with the opening reception on October 24, 2024 at 6:00 pm, throughout the conference on October 25, and closes on November 8th.

Through a variety of mediums—painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media—Build the Movement invites artists from diverse backgrounds to explore themes of social justice, community, and resilience.

This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council with funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature from its general fund, in partnership with the Carnegie Art Center, and curated by Selena Medellin.
