An Election Reflection
Dear friends and neighbors,
As we reflect on 2024’s election and its impact, YWCA Mankato remains unwavering in our mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. In times of change and uncertainty, our work becomes even more critical, and we are reminded of the power of community, solidarity, and collective action.
Elections shape our world, guiding the path for our communities, our policies, and our shared future, whether we agree with results or not. Regardless of the outcomes, we recognize that our commitment to justice transcends any political moment. At the YWCA, we advocate for policies that dismantle systemic racism, advance gender equity, and create opportunities for all individuals to thrive. We also stand firm in our dedication to serve and support those who are most affected by injustice and inequality, whether through educational programs for young people, creating community and support for refugees and immigrants, and inspiring women leaders.
We invite you to join us in this ongoing journey. Engage with us as we work to build a region where all people feel safe, valued, and empowered. Together, we can amplify our voices and turn today’s challenges into opportunities for a more inclusive and equitable future.
Hope remains a powerful, RADICAL act. There is nothing that can take or shake our united resolve. We will continue to serve and to build – just as we have for 99 years. This is what we have been called to do. Thank you for being part of our mission, and let’s continue to make a positive impact—side by side.
In solidarity,
Ceceli Polzin
YWCA Mankato Executive Director
